Hannah Mazetti (b. 1989) is a painter working in oil and graphite. Her current project “Works in Ashstarted out with a single act; Mixing a pinch of her mother’s ashes into graphite, while drawing her as a child. Since then, she has continued to burn things (and paint them with the ashes). Mostly ordinary things, like favorite books, or an old cake. But also, some larger things - she is planning for instance, to burn a building.

Before turning to painting, Mazetti burnt other things. As co-founder of Studio Total, a Swedish activism agency behind stunts such as the Teddybear Airdrop over Belarus, she once burned 100,000 Swedish crowns. Actions, some would state blurred art, politics and theatre - and which once earned the Financial Times  Boldness in Business Award and the Epica Gold.

She has also built startups at YC (under Sam Altman’s reign), studied psychology, and her projects have been mentioned in The New York Times, Fast Company, Svenska Dagbladet, and even featured on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
